Welcome
The President Mr Dowling introduced himself and welcomed everyone to the meeting
And thanked them for attending. He also thanked the members of the committee
for their work over the past two years. He advised that our treasurer, Maureen, was
retiring this year and thanked her for setting up our accounts.
He also provided some background to the development of the association and
encouraged all residents and owners to join.
Quorum
The President determined and announced that a quorum (six) was present and
the meeting was duly constituted.
Previous Minutes
Mr Dowling proposed we accept the minutes of the previous AGM, seconded Theresa
Rutherford, carried.
Public Liability Insurance
Mr Dowling advised our requirements and current status (no insurance) and that we
are reviewing our insurance options. We have recently secured stamp duty exemption
for Public Liability insurance should we decide to to take up such insurance.
Finance
Mr Dowling advised that our Treasurer Maureen Reichmuth has provided full financial
records for the 2016/17 financial year, they have been verified by Mr Dowling and we
have no requirement for audit. We have $1302.16 in the bank and no liabilities. The
records were made available for members to inspect. Maureen Reichmuth proposed
the financial documents be adopted, seconded by Neville Dowling carried.
Committee
Mr Dowling then declared all committee positions vacant, advised that the existing
committee had all been renominated except for Maureen, and we have Michelle
Green nominating for that position, those nominations have been posted at this
location for the past seven days as required under the rules. Mr Dowling then read out
the nominations and moved that the nominated members be elected, seconded Frank
Reichmuth, carried.
Other Business
1. Question from John Davenport regarding mobile coverage and the requirement for
an additional tower. Mr Dowling advised Telstra 4GX will give coverage here. Also
major carriers support WiFi calling on the latest handsets using reception via your
home WiFi.
2. Question from the floor regarding the pink markers in the park. Mr Dowling advised
we think these are to mark the new trees so the contractors do not mow over them.
3. Question from John Davenport regarding a toilet block for the park. Mr Dowling
advised that we did talk about this at the last AGM and that Councillor Peter Young
had responded and explained the significant costs involved (>$200k) and the limited
division 5 budget (~$800K) available, plus the ongoing maintenance costs.
4. Question from John Davenport could we get a BBQ for the park, Mr Dowling
advised we will raise this with council.
5. Question from the floor, is there anything further on the walkway to the local
shops. Mr Dowling advised JR has purchased the block next door and is happy to push
a path through, however there are some issues to be resolved first.
6. A suggestion from Josh Pemberton was to get a skip for rubbish collection. Mr
Dowling advised we will approach council to see if they can assist before any of us go
ahead privately.
7. A second suggestion from Josh Pemberton was for us to have a directory of local
trades and businesses on our website. Mr Dowling advised we had looked at this
previously and thought a small tax deductible fee of say $50 per year for each business
would help support the businesses and the Association. We will put it out there and
see what response we get.
8. Mr Dowling reminded all to check our facebook page for current news.
Next AGM Date and time to be determined and advised.
