**DRAFT**Minutes of the 5th Annual General Meeting of the Nathan Forest Community Association Inc held in the park on The Oval Dr at 11am on Sunday 6th December 2020 at 11am.
Present Paul Blake, David Deith, Heath Dewson, Cheryl Dowling, Neville Dowling, Fern Fisher, Russell Freebody, Sharynne Freebody, David Shepherd & Janet Shepherd
Apologies Dany Blake, Jacque Mason
Visitors Harry Scholten, Rob Wiltshire.
Meeting commenced at 11:00
Welcome The President Mr Dowling introduced himself and the committee, welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked them for attending. He gave a brief introduction to those present about the association, how and why it was originally formed. He also advised we record the meeting for the purpose of minute taking.
Quorum The President determined and announced that a quorum (five) was present andthe meeting was duly constituted.
Previous Minutes Mr Dowling proposed that we accept the minutes of the previous AGM, seconded Mrs Shepherd, carried.
Public Liability Insurance
Mr Dowling advised our requirements and current status (no insurance) and that we are required to annually review our insurance options. We have decided not to take up such insurance at this time.
Finance Mr Dewson advised we had $1653.46 at the end of the financial year and no liabilities. The records were made available for members to inspect. Neville Dowling proposed and David Shepherd seconded that we accept the financial report, carried.
Committee Mr Dowling then declared all committee positions vacant, advised that the existing committee Neville Dowling, Paul Blake Heath Dewson and David Shepherd, had all renominated as well as Fern Fisher, those nominations have been posted at this location for the past seven days as required by the Act. Mr Dowling then asked for a vote to accept the nominees, all in favor no dissenters, carried. Mr Dowling then invited anyone with an interest in being on the committee to let us know as we can appoint new members to the committee.
Other Business 1. There was general discussion regarding hooning, road signs within the estate, the proposed upgrade of all FTTN services to full fibre, the unused coaxial network within the estate, possible exit to Nathan Valley Road in emergencies, mobile reception and fire fuel reduction.
2. There was also discussion about the upgrade of the Maudsland Road intersection with Beaudesert-Nerang road. The Department of Transport and Main roads latest update 17/11/2020 is…
We are designing safety improvements at the intersection of Beaudesert–Nerang Road and Oxenford–Coomera Gorge Road (Maudsland Road) at Mount Nathan.
Funding. The Queensland Government has committed $4.9 million in funding as part of the Queensland Economic Recovery Strategy: Unite and Recover for Queensland Jobs.
Current status We are currently undertaking detailed design at the intersection of Beaudesert–Nerang Road and Maudsland Road to provide safety improvements by installing traffic signals. Geotechnical and environmental investigations are expected to start in late September 2020.
Next AGM Date and time to be determined and advised. Expect October/November next.
